Dr Tatiana Tkatchenko graduated in 2003 with a Bachelor of Health Sciences from the University of Otago (NZ). In 2008, she earned a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) and later pursued a Doctorate of Clinical Dentistry (DClinDent) in Periodontics. During her time in university, she was the recipient of multiple awards for clinical and academic excellence.
Dr Tatiana has published numerous papers in peer-reviewed industry journals and has written several book reviews. She is passionate about continuing education and regularly attends a wide range of courses both domestically and internationally. She is interested in all aspects of perio from non-surgical to surgical treatments, implants, as well as soft and hard tissue regeneration.
Dr Tatiana is a reviewer for New Zealand Dental Journal and a Review Editor for Frontiers. She is a member of the CPD advisory panel for Australian Dental Association Queensland (ADAQ), the International Team of Implantology (ITI), Australian Dental Association, Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (RACDS), and the Australia New Zealand Academy of Periodontists (ANZAP).
She is a former vice president of the Australian Society of Periodontology Queensland branch (ASPQ) and remains a member. She is also a Fellow of the International College of Continuing Dental Education.
Her involvement in clinical research and continuing education ensures she stays up-to-date on the latest advancements in periodontology and implantology. She is experienced in the diagnosis and treatment (surgical and non-surgical) of periodontal, peri-implant and mucogingival conditions, as well as in bone and soft tissue grafting.

When she’s not working, studying or mentoring, Dr Tatiana enjoys spending time with family, reading, pilates, and travelling.
